The Hunchback of Notre Dame II: Quasimodo gets a girlfriend.
Bambi II: Bambi hangs out with his dad
In fact, Atlantis: Milo's Return, Cinderella II: Dreams come True, and Beauty and the Beast: Belle Magical World all at least seem like the scraps of aborted TV shows. That's right, these are TV show ideas Disney threw in the garbage can because they weren't good enough.
Of the sequels that actually do put forth an effort, Jane is easily deserving to stay in Disney cannon. The great character development that Anastasia goes through in "Cinderella III: A Twist in Time" is also worthy of staying in cannon as well. I do enjoy the humor of The Lion King one and a half though.
In case you didn't realize, Jane is a great character for a Disney sequel, and I think that Melody is a giant retread of her mother.
